On September 19-20, 2024, within the framework of the consultative meeting of heads of railway administrations on the establishment of the "Eurasian Transport Route" International Association, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Rovshan Rustamov met with the first deputy head of State Unitary Enterprise of Tajikistan Railways Sorbon Gulakhmadov, Azerbaijan Railways told APA-Economics.
At the meeting, the main directions and development prospects of railway cooperation between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, especially Tajikistan's access to European markets through the Middle Corridor were discussed.
It was noted that the transportation of goods delivered by the China-Tajikistan highway from Tajikistan to the Eurasian Transport Route by railway in the western direction provides important opportunities for the diversification of the Middle Corridor.
